Some limit theorems for the second-order Markov chains indexed by a general infinite tree with uniform bounded degree

* Correspondence: [email protected] Faculty of Science, Jiangsu University, Zhenjiang, 212013, China Full list of author information is available at the end of the article Abstract In this paper, we study a convergence theorem for a finite second-order Markov chain indexed by a general infinite tree with uniformly bounded degree. Meanwhile, the strong law of large numbers (LLN) and Shannon-...

Limit Theorems for the Shifting Level Process

This paper studies the asymptotic properties of moment estimators for the general shifting level process (SLP). A law of large numbers and a weak convergence theorem are obtained under conditions involving the unobservable processes which make up SLP. Specific conditions about those underlying processes are acided to give explicit results, applicable to a large class of moment estimators. Actua...

Ratio Limit Theorems for Empirical Processes

Concentration inequalities are used to derive some new inequalities for ratio-type suprema of empirical processes. These general inequalities are used to prove several new limit theorems for ratio-type suprema and to recover a number of the results from [1] and [2]. As a statistical application, an oracle inequality for nonparametric regression is obtained via ratio bounds.

Exponential inequalities and functional central limit theorems for random fields

We establish new exponential inequalities for partial sums of random fields. Next, using classical chaining arguments, we give sufficient conditions for partial sum processes indexed by large classes of sets to converge to a set-indexed Brownian motion. For stationary fields of bounded random variables, the condition is expressed in terms of a series of conditional expectations. For non-uniform...
